The Top 10 Moments We Hope We Made You Think in 2015

Written by eQ Team | May 5, 2016

Every time we reach this point of the year it causes a lot of reflection. We ask ourselves: what did we love about the year we just completed and why? Was it a good year? What did we learn?

We surveyed our team on the content we’ve produced this year at eQ, and asked them to pick their favorites, and why. We hope you agree with our favorites, and would love to hear about some of your own.

5 ways to build a marathon mindset – “Incredibly simple, often hard to remember. I love how Whitney advises us to maintain an outlook that lasts beyond what's right in front of us.”

How eQ uses clarity to break the mold of your one-size-fits-all solution – “Without clarity, how do you expect to make progress? Find out what it takes to get everyone on the same page and more importantly, find out, why you should even bother. Trust us, it's worth the effort.”

Your story IS a story worth telling – “Interesting, compelling and purposeful. If you plan on opening your mouth, consider how what you say impacts your listener. Don't we all strive to be understood? Then make it your mission to be authentic. Story telling is making a lasting impression - otherwise, what's the point?”

“NOW HIRING … Chief Culture Officer!” – do you have the right fit? – “People are your most important asset and they don't find you, stay with you, and serve the organization at the highest level without skillful, intentional care and feeding. You need a CCO to not just play the game but change and win the game.”

Stop wasting time by “shooting for the moon” – “Aiming at the right target in an effective manner is an often-overlooked key to success. Being reminded of the opportunity to push to the proper level of productive discomfort is very good counsel for those seeking to grow effectively.”

Little Lies – “Supportive doesn't mean fluffy or, worse, dishonest. Helping see what they're doing well and where and how they can do better is more meaningful that puffery - whether merely general or inaccurate. Be respectful by being real.”

3 common words killing your job search – “I like this blog because people often think that job interviews are mostly about their experience- wrong, its how you position yourself, your skillset and what you want to do. When people believe in themselves they don't feel that they need to use these words in this blog.”

Take the stress out of onboarding new employees with these 6 simple steps – “I also like this blog too because often employers overlook how important it is, and simple if done well, to on-board employees. With candidates generally knowing in 90 days if they want to stay with a company, that is not much time to get it right and this blog helps create a fool-proof, but customizable way to on-board effectively.”

What rush hour traffic taught me about work-life balance – “A great reflection of what we practice and preach at eQ. It’ important to know how to treat your employees and give them the freedom they need to become top performers.”

The only trick you'll ever need to crush an interview – “We’ve talked about the concept of ‘why’ a lot, but I like how this particular blog gives a twist to the concept and applies it to success it an interview. Knowing your why before you go into an interview can help take a lot of the stress out of an otherwise stressful situation.”
