I know, I know – it’s been over a week since Beta City wowed our Baltimore community, and I’m still going on and on about it. But this event was worthy of the hype.

Beta City is a deeply invigorating experience, with some of the brightest, most generous people in the Baltimore community coming together to celebrate technology and innovation.

Much more than just a “Tech Night” – its former name – the event has now grown into an all-encompassing annual milestone, spotlighting community leaders, explosive startups, and a new breed of entrepreneur.

The goal? To grow Baltimore into an irresistible destination for entrepreneurship.

One thing’s for sure, special things happen at Beta City – unforgettable pitches, budding partnerships, and valuable connections. All this thanks to the tireless work, dedication, and creativity of Betamore, Sagamore Ventures, and the masterminds over at City Garage.

As sponsors of the event, eQ wanted to really step up this year.

For us, this meant two things:

  1. Shedding more light on the Baltimore business community

If you’re curious about how Charm City is performing when it comes to entrepreneurship – despite what the media shows you – here are a few surprising stats:

As you can see, there’s room for improvement, but the way I see it, this is only the beginning for Baltimore! Even modest progress is noteworthy and worth celebrating.

  1. Listening more carefully to how others are helping Baltimore grow regardless

Since eQ is all about shifting engagement in the American workplace, we wanted to hear from Beta City guests, sponsors, entrepreneurs, and startups to discover how they’re making an impact in our local community.

Ultimately, the evening was and always will be about the BALTIMORE COMMUNITY.

And eQ will ALWAYS support our city.
